Estudyante Life: Projects and Tasks

Here I am now– facing my sewing box and the materials I need in making our props. By the way, we have this performance task wherein we will be performing an interpretative dance. My energy is drained and I badly want to sleep now but I can’t!! I have to finish making our props for tomorrow’s performance. It’s like I am being tortured. This is what I hate about having tasks. I’m even running out of money because of buying some materials. And since we aren’t rich, my mother always scold me for spending too much on our performance task.

The thing is that, we are going to have another performance task next week! Why does final grading have to be like this? Sometimes, I even wanted to shout a my teacher’s face that we, her students, aren’t supernatural beings. We are just humans and we also need to rest. Although we have weekends with no classes, we still need to meet our group mates in order for us to practice for another task. The time that I must spend with my family is taken away.  I’m sooooooo tired. I want to rest!

Tasks: Interpretative Dance for our Social Studies subject, Musical play for our Music subject, and Contemporary dance for our Physical Education.

‘Coz I’m only human. And I bleed and I fall down. I’m only human. And I crash and I break down.

One more month to go and we will finally have our summer break. We have to be patient. The struggle is real!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Estudyante Life

At this moment, I’m currently reading El Filibusterismo by Dr. Jose Rizal. We will be havinga long quiz tomorrow in Filipino. Actually, nakakapagod mag-aral and I keep on thinking if all the lessons they teach in school will help me in my everyday life. For example, if I’m going to pay for my groceries in the market, do I have to solve a polynomial function just for me to know how much my change is? Absolutely not. Yes, education is indeed a key to success but it really gets tiring.

I’m always wondering why I easily get asleep when I’m reading my books in science or whatever subject that requires reading while I can even stay up all night reading novels and such.

Carrot Cake

After cleaning my room, I suddenly found my old cook book. I immediately flipped its pages and found my favorite recipe-carrot cake recipe. I tried this recipe for multiple times and my friends loved it. Even my teachers said it was delicious. So here it is:

  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  •  2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup vegetable
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups shredded carrots
  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • Preheat oven to 350°F or 170°C. Grease a 9-inch pan with butter and dust it with flour.
  • In a bowl, combine flour baking soda, cinnamon and salt then sift it. Add the sugar.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix in carrots and vanilla.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake it for 30-35 minutes. You can tell if it is cooked when you insert a toothpick in the center and it comes out clean.
  • Let it cool before frosting. It tastes best with cream cheese frosting.

I hope you’ll love this recipe too. Enjoy baking.

Sugar Cookie Dough Recipe

After planning some business, I decided to go into making cakes, cookies, explosion boxes, and Magic Photo cube. So I decided to create another recipe for my cookie dough.

This recipe is perfect and delicious. I hope you’ll try it and maybe give it to your loved ones. I shaped mine into hearts and was able to make 75 little heart shaped cookies.

  • 2 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Sift then set aside.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar then add the egg and and vanilla. Mix well.
  3. Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture and incorporate well. After that, the mixture will become a dough. Form it into a ball and wrap it up with plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
  4. After chilling, flatten it out with a rolling pin and cut it in several shapes using cookie cutter.
  5. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350°F or 170°C  for about 10 minutes or until the cookies are slightly brown.
  6. Let it cool before serving.

*These cookies will be lovely if designed with royal icing.

Happy baking everyone!
